Scripture Reading
Proverbs 9:10
"The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom..."
Reflection
Proverbs 13:20 — “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise…” Devotional Thought: Wisdom is not simply intelligence or education. True wisdom begins with our relationship with God. The fear of God means reverencing Him, acknowledging Him, and giving Him the glory for what He does through us. The teaching also emphasizes the importance of our associations. The people we surround ourselves with can influence our decisions and our future. Wise friends don't only think about today. They think about tomorrow. They help you consider consequences, pray through decisions, and see beyond the present moment. REFLECTION Look carefully at the people closest to you. Do they encourage you to grow? Do they challenge you to think wisely? Do they encourage you to pray and seek God? Do they help you make decisions based on your future rather than temporary pleasure? You don't need many friends. You need wise friends. Ask God to remove relationships that consistently pull you away from wisdom and to bring people into your life who will help you become better. DECLARATION I walk in the fear of God. I am surrounded by wise associations. I will not be destroyed by foolish decisions or foolish relationships.
Prayer
Father, give me a heart that reverences You. Remove pride from me and teach me to acknowledge You in everything I do. Surround me with wise people who will help me make godly and purposeful decisions.
