Reflection
KEY NOTE Prayer is powerful, but prayer does not give us permission to ignore responsibility. The sermon makes a strong point: “Prayer will not repair what principle has broken.” If a person consistently breaks a principle, repeatedly praying without changing the behavior does not solve the underlying problem. There are things we must pray about, but there are also things we must do. You cannot pray for a harvest while refusing to sow. You cannot pray for progress while refusing to take responsible action. Prayer and work are not enemies. Pray. Then act. Believe. Then obey. Pray. Then work. REFLECTION Prayer is powerful, but am I also doing my part? Faith must be followed by obedience and action. DECLARATION I will not replace responsibility with prayer. I receive grace to act on what God has placed in my hands. I will pray, believe, obey, and take action. My faith will produce works.
Prayer
Father, show me where I have replaced responsibility with excuses. Give me the discipline to act on what You have placed in my hands. Let my prayers be supported by obedience and action. Amen.
