NIGERIA STILL TOPS LIST FOR CHRISTIAN PERSECUTION WORLDWIDE.

According to Open Doors' 2026 World Watch List, released earlier this year, Nigeria alone accounted for the vast majority of Christians killed globally for their faith in the past reporting period — over 3,400 of roughly 4,800 worldwide. The report also tracked thousands of church properties attacked or destroyed across the wider Sub-Saharan region, which continues to be described as the epicenter of anti-Christian violence.
